SNEAK PEEKS
So for now...we are headed out the door to downtown Naples. We are hitting 5th avenue South for a bit of lunch outside today and maybe a big, fat, chocolate souffle ala mode' to top off the celebration. Then, its a wee bit of "birfday" shopping to help smother the depression of turning the big 3-4. I got my incredibly awesome birthday gift a month early from Brent and the kids this year so not a ton of shopping today. Just enough to call it a "gift to myself" kinda' day. Ya know? My parents gave me their gift last month as well before I ever left for Florida. Mom gave me her gifts when she was here with us a couple of weeks ago. And my mother and father in law gave me their birthday gift on Thursday as soon as they arrived. I'll be posting photos of that one soon. They got me the most kickin' handbag EVAH! I love it! You ladies must see it in case you want to go get one for yourselves. All of you animal print lovers will definitely go into convulsions over it. Such a cool bag! Thanks Deb & Ron!

Hope you have the best Birthday ever!
My family and I are wanting to go to Florida on vacation and was wondering where you find good rentals? You speak very highly of Naples. Any ideas?
Happy Birthday to the most beautiful girl in the world! xoxoxo
Your new line reminds of the Matilda Jane line I order from. Did you get inspiration from the MJ line?
Anonymous #1 - I would love to help you out with your FL vacation planning. You will love it here. Feel free to email me directly at Angie@AngelicaGraceDesigns.com
and I can help you with any specific questions you might have. OK?
Anonymous #2 - Love Matilda Jane's things. Denise (Designer behind MJ) worked on eBay for a short time just after I began designing on there. When Denise first got started, I actually purchased some of her wooden painted baby furniture from her at a local Holiday mart Art Fair. She does great decor - or used to before she got heavy into the clothing designs. Denise's things are what I like to cal Shabby Victorian. Love it all! However, I have a tendency to dress my little girl a bit more in a "funky mod" way. The funkier the better. So no...I didn't get my inspiration for my new line from Denise. (although I do think her things are very cute-they just aren't designs that tend to frequent my daughters closet because we like that "out of the box" - funky and differnt stuff.) I'm guessing what you are referring to is the knot straps on one of my new sneak peeks. Denise has used a similar design on some of her dresses. However, the knot dress is a universal pattern that can be purchased at any fabric store or online pattern supplier. I guess you could say our inspiration comes from pattern makers most times. Ha ha! (unless it is a pattern we've designed ourselves)
A pattern is made to be your own creation and your own look though. I always say that patterns are meant to be changed. Just like rules are meant to be broken. Hee hee! My advice is to grab a pattern and make the look yours by the time you finish it. Great fun! The best part of designing is working from a palette and then turning that palette into something magnificent that reflects your own style or your own individual flair. Make sense?
Big hugs, Angie
