OUR PURPOSE

How anyone can assume that the sun just 'automatically' knows when to rise and when to set boggles my mind.

How anyone can assume that the sea just 'automatically' knows where to start and where to end baffles me.

And for those who have yet to to believe that there is a God - even after witnessing an extraordinary site such as a simple but yet stunning sunset like this - leaves me speechless - and wanting to share my faith even that much more - every second of every day. It leaves me yearning to share how much God has done in my life and how much he has done for those around me. It leaves me wanting to plant that many more seeds whenever and wherever I can. It leaves me wanting to be more Christlike in all that I do. In every breath that I take.

I sat on this sunset cruise last weekend just in awe of God's miraculous gifts to us. Some of you even saw me facebook about it and twitter my thoughts during the actual event. I've seen sunsets before but this particular one left me with a feeling of wanting to help change the world. Wanting to take on the world more less. It left me with the notion that I haven't even begun to scratch the surface of doing enough while on this earth. I walked away with a new sense of inspiration and an even deeper love for the Lord. I'll be 34 years old in a month and a half and feel as though I need to get busy. Busy being the change I wish to see in the world. I climbed off that boat last Friday evening and felt refreshed, renewed, rejuvenated, and restored. But on the other hand, I realized I had a long way to go before ever becoming minutely close to fulfilling God's plan for my life. It's time to get moving and kick it into high gear. I'm ready for him to use me in all the ways he feels necessary.

It's amazing what a little BIG sunset will do for your life goals and for your soul in general. God has magnificent ways of speaking to our heart if we are willing to stop and listen. I know I've been guilty of not slowing down enough to listen in the past year especially. How bout' you guys? Are you listening? To learn the answer to that question, pull up a lawn chair in front of the next sunset. That big round ball of luscious golden glory isn't just there rising and setting for us to ignore. The sun has a purpose. We have a purpose. The question is...what will we do with that purpose while blessed with our time here on this earth? Celebrating the simple yet intensely significant things in life today....
In his grip, Angie

I agree. Without a doubt, when I feel most connected to God is when I'm staring at something beautiful in nature. I love when the sun sets on the horizon and barren trees are a black silhouette against a colorful sky. I love clouds and rain and rivers and mountains. THAT is what makes me most in awe and leaves me speechless.

Amen, Angie! I have just recently pulled my head out of the sand, so to speak, and realized just how many people do not believe. I have always been naive, I guess, because I was always brought up surrounded by Christians, to think that was what everyone believed. It always seemed so obviously logical to me, but I am realizing lately that believers really are the minority. It is my hope too to reach as many people as possible. I think your photos are absolutely beautiful and inspiring.....a portrait of God's magnificent creation.

Sunrises and sunsets, clouds, flowers, snow, cats, dogs, babies, music....lots of things leave me in awe of God's wondrous creativity to make each day and each creature unique.

I sure don't want to be without Him in MY heart and thanks for the reminder to share Him with others. Magnificent photos! Happy Fingerprint Friday ~*~

Your sunset pictures are so beautiful! How could you not stop and rethink God's purpose for your life here on earth. I think we all need to slow down and enjoy the sunrise and sunsets that God give us. To focus and regroup our thoughts.
Thank you for sharing your sunset pictures with us!

These sunset photos are gorgeous! It is truly hard to understand how some people believe that the earth and all that is in it are part of some big accident when it is so evident, if your eyes are open, that it is instead a grand design of the most high Creator!

I have always wondered how some people could actually NOT believe in God. I just want to show them my daughter Alicen and all that God has brought her through and all that he has done just for our little family. The awesome ability God has is phenomenal when you look at it through what I have endured with Alicen and all of her struggles. I got the wonderful opportunity to actually watch her eyelids open for the VERY FIRST TIME. If someone tried to tell me that that wasn't from God I would difinately argue. God is awesome and I love that he loves me.

This is awesome! Thanks for sharing your thoughts today. I know we all need to slow down and LISTEN, when we're busy it's really hard to hear what the Lord is telling us. Thanks for the reminder.

It's the simple things that make me realize how AWESOME He is!! Everything I have and every person I have forgiven, He gave me the strength, wisdom, courage, guidance and power to acheive those obstacles. God is all around us and he will never leave you! It took me a few years to slow down and take the simple path and that's when I heard God speaking to me. My favorite picture is the one with the boat in the distance, so calming and beautiful. I can't for the next 2 weeks to come and I can be on the beach just vegging out. I so need it. Hope Kenidi's ear feel better soon!! Have a great weekend!!!
