VISIT NAPLES...

I spent the day by the shoreline with my Mom again today. Living this close to the beach is really putting a damper on my to do list - especially my Christmas shopping. The term "beach bum" is sounding like a pretty good description of my lazy self right about now. I'm totally owning it - proudly.

I'm furious at myself because of all days that I decided to leave my camera behind at home and not take it with me to the beach, every bird in town was there as were 4 dolphins at our feet - right up at the shore line today. It was a gorgeous sight. The pelicans were there - tons of them - skimming the surface with their wings - soaring mere inches from over top the oceans wave caps. It was utter craziness and the whole time I was camera-less. Big Pappa-less. I'm such a dork for leaving my camera at home. I sooooooo know better. So for now, you'll have to feast your eyes on images that were taken last week. Stale shots as I call them. Old news. Ha ha!

Gorgeous colors...

I'm scared to even want to ask what this is...

Beautiful flowers...just beautiful...

These gorgeous sites were all taken at the Naples Botanical Gardens last week...

Again, I have no idea what these are. They were growing off of some palm tree there at the botanical gardens...

Everywhere we looked...they had plants planted in everything. These next few pictures were taken in the "children's botanical garden" area.

If you ever the chance to vacation in Naples, you should definitely visit the Naples Botanical Gardens. It's a great place and a very lovely adventure for the day. Make sure to take a camera along too. :) And because I get soooooo many emails on a daily basis inquiring about Naples in general (as well as Bonita Springs which is just 15 minutes from Naples), I thought I'd post this link to a video of Naples for you guys who are considering a vacation here. You can find the video HERE: Naples, Marco Island and the Everglades - Videos - Florida Vacations - Visit Naples, Marco Island & Everglades. Hopefully this will help sway some of you to come and visit us down here. :) With an average year round temperature of 75-85 degrees and a beach that was rated as one of the top 10 in the country by Travel magazine, and rated one of the top 10 Florida beaches by the travel channel...you surely won't want to pass up coming this way. To our neck of the woods. I've got some great shopping boutiques I can take you to as well as a quaint little cupcakery that I'd love to introduce you to as well. Wink wink! ;)

xoxo, Angie

Hi,
I don't have a blog, but I was wondering if you could suggest a really great restaurant in the Naples/Marco Island area. We will be there in March and have 2 family birthdays during the week. I want something special....from a local perspective =)).

Thank you!!

Hi Angie:

I have been reading your blog for a while..found you from Kelly's Korner. I am a Miami native and Naples is about 90 minutes from our home. We love it..the West Coast beaches rock! Sarasota beaches are beautiful, too! To answer your question about the tree with the fruit, that is a banana tree. We have them in our backyard. The bananas are a smaller version of what you would buy in the grocery store. They are pretty good, kinda sweet. With regards to the things from the palm trees, I call them "beads". The birds like to eat them. Kinda messy and they scatter everywhere!

Glad to know that you and your family are doing well. I have a son who is also the same age as your son. Your photography is beautiful! There is nothing like the Naples beaches to relax the soul. The sunsets are amazing as well! God has truly blessed us Floridians, hasn't He?

May the wonder of our Savior's love fill your hearts with joy this Christmas and in the New Year!

Enjoy your first Christmas as a Floridian!! Blessings to you and your family, Cheryl from Miami

Cheryl,

Well thank you so very much girl. I had no idea that those were banana trees. Amazing! I have tons to get educated on now that we are full time Floridians. LOL! I'm thankful for people like you who can teach me what in the world I'm looking at and photographing. HA HA! And how awesome that you are a Miami girl. Yes, only about an hour to an hour and a half from us here in Naples. Should you guys ever get down this way, let me know. It's always great fun to meet blog readers in person. Thank you for being a frequent visitor. :)

Have a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year too.

Blessings, Angie

Hey, Angie~~~~
OMG! Amazing, just a million times amazing is all I gotta say about your pics. Glorious pics! I haven't "talked" to you in a long time. I did want you to know that I read your posts every day and so enjoy your photos. It sounds like you all are adjusting well. You are in my thoughts
and prayers as always!

And oh yeah~~~~ how cool to have your Mom with you! I lost my Mom to lung cancer back in 1993. She grew up in Florida. Her brother still lives in Panama City (rather, Lynn Haven, which is a little suburb). I have wonderful memories of travels to the beach there. I probably will have me some skin cancer someday due to the horrendous sunburns we got there as
kids.

Blessings,
Helen

Angie, I love these scenes of the beach. Especially, the one of the Barnabes. That photo looks as the the bird in the front with the wings spread is saying to the other birds, " O.K., everyone paying attention ? this is how it's done ". A great Florida Chamber of Commerce photo. However, I think that one of the water "flying" up was an AWESOME shot, the ability to get that shot shows how TALENTED you've become in your photography skills. You should look into a job with the Florida Chamber of Commerce. Merry Christmas, give Brennen and Kenidi hugs and kisses from Aunt Sharla
