SWEETNESS

Does this child know how to soak it up in front of a camera or what? Ha ha! For my photography class this week, we were given a list of ten words we had to place into a hat/jar. The assignment was to pull out three of them and then take a shoot and incorporate those three words/things into the one image. Yes, all in one image. We also had to make sure the exposure, ISO, white balance, etc. were all correctly where they should be in the photograph. With this shoot, I also got to implement some really cool Photoshop actions (post processing color) in the shot once I was done which added to the "candy/rock star/vintage sock" look I thought. My three words that we pulled out of the jar were "pink, socks, and candy." So...we were told to get creative with those words and make them all into a photograph. Although the task at hand initially seemded easy, it became very clear that it wasn't real quick! Between dodging the mud in the grass from Kenidi's white tube socks and then also getting her to continually lick the sucker (yes, this part was tough), I was really struggling. In the end though, big bro (Brennen) stepped in to save the day. He got behind me and really helped move the shoot along as well as tried to pull some belly laughs out of her. (which was another word in the hat that I was attempting to incorporate for fun)

This shoe shot below is going to get framed and put in my AGD studio. Can I just tell you how much I love it?

And finally below...we have her singing into the lollipop. She loves to sing and dance. Last night was no different during this shot.

Oh to be young again and be able to wear kickin' tube socks like those. What fun!

PS...In case you were wondering, it was the very 1st/top image that I submitted for my class assignment. Socks, Pink, and Candy. What a fun shoot and a challenging one at that.

Much love, Angie

I will try and find out just where his place is so we can have a better idea. I know my niece will be spending a couple weeks there after school lets out. Lucky here...hehe.
I am so exicited for y'all and your upcoming trip. It sounds like a dream come true..smile. Do y'all have you own place there? My brother just loves that area and has just finished getting all of the furniture for his place. I cant wait to see it one day. Welllll enough dreamin' for now. Take care

Yes I agree the sock picture is worthy of your studio!

Thanks for your comment on my blog. My special needs brother that you asked about (Ben) is actually 34 years old now. He was born normal but became brain-damaged by the DPT shots (pertussis) and now has the mentality of a twelve-month old. At the time he had his baby shots the statistics were one in 300,000 children could have brain damage from the pertussis vaccine. So he was the 1 in 300,000. It's been a difficult road and yet our family has seen God at work through Ben's life. I have nothing short of total admiration for his teachers and the people who have worked with him throughout his life. I would do anything to have one ounce of the patience of special needs teachers! And still when Ben sees me he wants me to sing "Jesus Loves Me" and his eyes light up and he claps. And so we sing it again and again and again! And the words of the song ring so true to me as I sing that I often get teary-eyed, "Little ones to Him belong...they are weak and He is strong!"

Hope your preparations for the beach are going well! Praying for you!

Wow I have to say that is such an adorable picture, thanks to big bro brennen for helping out. I have to be honest though, even though those shoes and socks do each other justice-and this paticular photo shoot. I hate those shoes and socks compared to the really girly ones in Kenidi's "MALL" closet(I mean closet) ha ha. I think you should take a picture of all her shoes. I just drool when I see all her cute stuff, the only thing better than that is going to Angie's "MALL" closet! Heaven!!!! xoxoxo
