MY POOR BABY

Well, today is a beautiful day - no doubt - here in Indy. And yes, us girls here at home just wanna' have some sun. (just like her shirt reads) However, we are watching that sun shine from indoors today. After a noticeable difference in Kenidi's demeanor this weekend and a loss of her voice on top of that, I decided to keep her home from school today and take her to the pediatrician for a check up. Low and behold, they confirmed a double ear infection with possible strep throat. They said they weren't going to torture her and swab her throat because they were already going to have to treat her for with antibiotic for her ears anyhow. Thus, if she has the strep, it will be treated by the antibiotic for the ears. Therefore, we walked out of there feeling horrible over the fact that once again...Kenidi's lack of verbal abilities have hampered her ability to be able to tell us when she is ill. She can't talk to us and speak up when under the weather. We really have to watch her body language and basically "over guess" just to be safe. It's so sad. I just hate it for her. After the doctor appointment, we filled her prescription, grabbed her favorite lunch, and then came home. She is now sleeping peacefully curled up next to me in Mamma and Daddy's bed. I feel so sorry for her. I can't bare the thought of how long she could've possibly had this without us knowing. Breaks my heart. Wide open!

So...we are enjoying the sunshine but yet doing so as it billows through the windows here at home. No matter how we get it, I'll take it. Indy is expecting rain for the next 4 days this week. I'm going to ladle up the rays as much as I can before the forecast changes again for the worst. In the meantime, say a little prayer for quick healing regarding our Kenidi Grace, will ya? We fly out to head South again next Thursday. Brent and I can't fathom what it will be like if her ears are bothering her on those flights. Poor thing.

(Images above were taken this past weekend in the wild and windy outdoors)

Thanks in advance for the prayers...
Angie

I pray for Kenidi. I feel your pain when it comes to not knowing if and when they get sick. Alicen can't tell us either. We have to wait til she cries.
Feel better little Kenidi, better days are coming soon.

If it's any consolation, I do think this kiddo of yours has a higher than normal pain threshold... I'm glad you got it figured out with one trip to the doc. Feel better Kenidi!

Thanks Alison. Yes, she sure does seem to have a higher tolerance to pain. That is for sure. She is awake now and seems to be playing for the moment. Her voice still sounds horrible but hey...one step at a time. Brennen said she sounds like a 80 year old woman who smokes. Ha ha! Gotta' love big bro!

Hope you are enjoying your day.
Hugs,
Angie

PS...Christina and Deb...thanks for the prayers ladies. I really appreciate it.

I was just reading your blog, listening to my ipod and "For just a time as this" came on when I was reading about Kenidi. Goosebumples as my niece calls them. You're such a good mom- she is blessed to have such a plugged in Mom.

Prayers for you all,
Julie Ann

Speaking of big bro, I hope he isn't sick! I can't believe that poor little thing was so sick and no one knew! That is when a Mother feels so bad because she always takes the blame for not knowing. I am surprised you don't have it.I will be praying for you all baby girl, xoxoxo Brennen is so cute, I love that God Put him and Kenidi together as siblings.

Hey ANG,

My prayers are with you for little Miss Kenidi, I know how it is when we got back last week my little one came back with 2 ear infections ...And to top it all off her very bad nose bleeds have been starting again ...I am losing my mind but what can I do ? Gotta have patience and of course faith it will pass ...I just have one suggestion for you ,you might not like it but I am speaking from experience being that she has the double ear infection it is not too good to fly out next week I know how that sounds if you could postpone it till the following Monday that would be better for Kenidi...Just a suggestion ....

Hugs Nicky

Angie,
I'm sure you've thought of this, but is she able to do "baby signs or sign language"? Both my kids did it at 1 and 2 year olds before they could talk. It worked wonders. Even when Cassidy was coming out of her coma, she started baby signs that she dug somewhere out of her memory bank to use to communicate with us before she could talk. I'm sure you've thought of this ave. but thought I would ask just in case. Leaving for the south again already?!? When will you be back??
