SHAME, SHAME, SHAME...

Milk chocolate and peanut butter Ghirardelli squares.
I. have. officially. died. and. gone. to. heaven.
Shame on all of you, my faithful blog readers, for not alerting me that these 2x2 inch squares of silky madness were out on the market with peanut butter oozing from their centers.
We are so broke up!

Just kiddin'! Just kiddin'!
But...find these. Go on a mission and find them. It's a must! They do not disappoint.
PS...Thank you for all of your direct emails and posts today about Kenidi. I can't thank you enough for the prayers. The doc says she has something called the ADNO virus. No medicine to help it - nothing but the nature of running its course. Figures! He said its worse than the flu and comes with 5-7 days of fever, vomiting, coughing that is out of this world, and a constant drainage drip from the nose. Oh how fun! Just what we wanted to hear. I'm guessing we are on day 3 of this now and therefore I pray that by Friday she will be on the mend. Bad news is...Brennen's school nurse called me at 12pm today and had me come pick him up from school early. Guess who is sick now? Oh joy, joy, joy! Sending up praises this evening that it's just this bug and nothing worse. Thank you sweet Jesus. Do you see me smiling, spinning, and leaping? (as my Mom always says)
Hugs, Angie

I hope your kids get better really quickly! And I hope you and your hubby stay healthy! I think my son has exactly what you're describing. Must be spreading all over Indiana like wildfire. Great. Doesn't it seem like there's been a lot of stuff going around this year? Lots of prayers for good health coming your way! Jill

I'll be a hand-washing fool, even more than usual! I don't want that nasty bug!! Sending healing thoughts and prayers your way.

I'm getting ready to go out the door, but I'll have to tell you my Ghirardelli (with a hard G, as in "goat") story another time.

Well it seems to be spreading to Minnesota, my lil Khadija now come down with the nasty throwing up sickness too and we too leave on Friday for vacation to Wisconsin Dells Ski Resort... bummer... I hope she gets better really quick too!!!

You know Ghirardelli's is in Florida and you can get the fresh chocolate right from the source at Downtown Disney and a free sample each time you enter the store... believe me EACH time you enter the store... my kids can vouch for that statement too! Ok, I probably got 2 but no more then 2 enters in one day for myself LOL! :) Enjoy Florida... we are heading the other direction for lots of cold and snow... I don't know what I was thinking:-)
I know we both had family time together in mind... so matter where we are we are together as family and that makes each place special... we will be missing Arielle though... still trying to get her back in our household or just to hear her voice again... yes that has been taken from us too and its hurts!

Hope you guys get over that sickness and leave it behind in Indy before you go!!

Here's my story...
In '87, I took my first trip to San Francisco with my husband. He works for Quaker Oats, and at the time, Quaker owned Ghirardelli. He was working in the Gatorade div. then, but I asked him to set up a tour of the Ghir. plant, which he did. We arrived in the parking lot where Ghir. shares the building with the home of Rice-a-Roni, and the smell was FABULOUS!! Like walking in an atmosphere of CHOCOLATE!

We had a personal tour, learning all about the process of making their yummy chocolate. We saw them making 10-lb. bars of milk chocolate, then loading them onto pallets bound for Morrow's Nut House.

The kicker was watching the machine that squirted out zillions of chocolate chips onto a conveyer. When they were firm, they dropped into a hopper where a man filled Ghirardelli bags that fed on the hopper like a sleeve. Those sold in the Ghir. stores for about $4. I watched the man stop the hopper, pull off the Ghir. sleeve and replace it with a sleeve that made SAFEWAY bags! Those sold in Safeway stores for 2/$3!! Same choc. chips, just different bags! I had Ned go to Safeway whenever he was out that way!

At the end of the tour, they loaded us down with LOTS of the Ghirardelli products! YUM! I love their Ground Chocolate, and saw that it's at Target, now.

All this chocolate talk, I have to go grab a piece of Dove Dark! MMMmmm
