THE DEVIL INSIDE MY PONY TAIL

If I was a drinker, today would be one of those days where I'd bust out a bottle of wine. And drink it all by myself - The. whole. thing. Better yet, make that a bottle of whiskey. Or I know...let's go with the big "V" - Vodka instead. Yes, it's been that bad. My son is challenging me. Big time. He is 10 going on 16 with a mouth the size of Texas. And get this...his latest favorite statement to me is..."Oh look - you're wearing a pony tail today Mom. You get mean when you wear pony tails. That explains why you're acting this way." Yeap, he really said that to me. More than once even. The next time it went something like this..."See, I told you - you're mean today because you're wearing THE pony tail." OOOOhhhhh how I love him so. The first time I busted out laughing because his statement was so comical. The 2nd time, third time, etc...not so much! Instead of a drinking fest though, I took my bad self and plopped down in front of some Chili's chips and salsa as well as a big ol' fat plate of chocolate molten cake from their restaurant. After that, I topped it all off with more - yes "more" peanut butter oreo's. Now that is my idea of a drunk fest. ;)

In a nutshell, I'm beginning to understand why some animals eat their young...

Angie! Don't say that! You know there isn't a parent in the world that hasn't had to go through something like this with their kids! Ha Ha! Remember you always thought I was mean whether I wore a Ponytail or not! I wonder what the pony tale has to do with it. So did Brennen get the Chips and Salsa and chocolate also? You are making me hungry! I guess If I had known more about prayer in those days, I would have just turned it over to God instead of whacking you each time (sorry honey) I guess you are begining to see what it's all about-----Motherhood at its finest. Just think he isn't even a real teen yet! About that drink????

Hang in there Angie! My son is the same age and I've felt the same way about him. I keep wondering where my sweet little boy went and why I was given this mouthy preteen in his place. We'd keep them forever if they didn't start driving us crazy, so perhaps it's the natural order?!

Ha Ha!!Too Funny! Love it. It must be the age.

As the one person wrote.. pull your hair up into several pony tails in the morning before he wakes up. Watch the expression on his face and have the camera ready.

Hang in there!!!

Hang in there! I've been there with 2 boys and now my daughter is 13. Their moods are so different from moment to moment and sometimes so hurtful or irriating! I sometimes want to runaway to the beach with a mai tai. I have learned to really enjoy the moments they want to snuggle and need you in between the not so good moments. We laugh now with our 27 year old at the crazy and sometimes mean things he would say or do. It gets easier with each child, my poor daughter we have heard everything so now it is just funny to hear and watch so not the effect she is looking for. Enjoy those small moments he will always still need and love you!
