MOVIES, MOVIES, & MORE MOVIES

Sorry...I'm blog slackin'. I know. It's been a busy, busy week. I had every intention of posting my 555th blog celebration give-a-way yesterday, but after working in Kenidi's class in the morning and then doing some Christmas shopping after that, my day got away from me. Then, Brennen had a buddy spend the night last night and had his first basketball game of the season this afternoon. It's now Saturday night and we just finished watching FRED CLAUS with Vince Vaughn in it - compliments of Apple TV. I LOVE Vince! He's one of my favorite actors now days. If you've not seen this show with your family, you should. It's a perfect holiday show. Another great holiday movie that we had never seen before but watched via apple TV is ELF. It has James Caan and Will Ferrel in it. Of course we also love Will Ferrel in our house too. Another one of our fav's. It's been a great weekend thus far with more fun to come tomorrow. We even got pictures in the snowfall today with real live reindeer. Yeap, sure did. I'll post those pictures later. Good times~Great memories! For now though, hunker down inside - stay warm and rent or buy these couple of movies to enjoy with your fam. They are too, too cute and really put you in the holiday spirit. I apologize for the slackin' this past week but right now I'm just bloggin' a quick post from bed and then back to enjoying my family. As for the blog celebration give-a-way, I PROMISE to post that on Monday. I want to wait until I know that everyone can participate. Monday's are the busiest blog day for the ol' AGD blog as far as traffic goes. Therefore, I'll post the give-a-way then. In the meantime, enjoy the rest of your night & sleep tight.
PS...Speaking of movies, sleeping tight & Apple TV, Brent and I watched a movie called "The Strangers" the other night and it was truly one of the scariest movies I've watched in a llooooonnnnnggggg time. Anyone who knows me well enough knows that I love scary movies. I've tortured many a girlfriends by making them endure horrendous horror flicks. (Right Sherry, Amanda, & Kim Pierce?) I distinctly remember leaving a theater in downtown Chicago late one night with girlfriends while on a girls weekend get-a-way trip there. I think it was Kim P. who uttered the sentence, "I feel like I need to go pray" after we witnessed "The Ring" movie together. HA HA! Fun times~fun times! With that said, it had been a couple of years since I'd sat down and watched a truly scary show. So...Brent talked me into this one the other night and I'm guessing that I didn't sleep for a couple of nights afterward. If you are into the scary shows, this is one to watch. Truthfully, it's a very dumb movie - as most horror flicks are. The really freaky thing is that it's based on true events. The plot lacks a good base...however, it doesn't lack the fear factor AT ALL. In a nutshell, I kept my eyes buried in Brent's chest most of the movie which is ssooooooooooooo not like me. Typically I'm all about eyes wide open and taking it all in. Not this time. I was shakin' in my boots. Brent looked at me when it was over and was all like..."I'm so tense I can barely breathe." You know it was horrifying if it got to him too. The best line in the whole movie is "Because you were home." You'll have to watch it to see what I mean. So eerriieeee! Brent runs around repeating that statement now just to freak me out. "Because you were home." HERE is the movies trailer if you'd like to take a quick peek at a preview for it. PLEASE NOTE: The movie itself is very graphic and very gory. It's definitely not a movie to watch when your kids are anywhere within a 14 mile radius of your TV. So...as your recent movie and cupcake critic, I would refer this one on to you too if you happen to get a kick out of these kinds of shows. Grab some cupcakes to eat while watching it. HA HA! How did we go from movies about Santa to horror flicks, eh?
Again, sleep tight... :)

Hey Angie,
I love Vince too! Not that I agree with everything in this movie but Wedding Crashers...HILARIOUSLY SIDE-SPLITTING! I haven't seen Fred Claus. I may have to rent it now.

I almost watched "Fred Claus" on Apple TV last night too, but decided to wait until the kids were around. Watched "Along Came Polly" instead. DH and I recently rented "Outsourced" on AppleTV. It's an indie film and was a pleasant surprise. Check it out.

HI Ang<

Love Elf and Fred Clause! But the best is 'The Grinch' with Jim Carey...so funny and sweet! Kids love it! Can't watch scary movies anymore. Used to love them but after having the kids I am a wimp! The preview of that "Strangers' movie freaked me out...so sad coming from someone who used to love the scary shows. Have a great holiday and get some sun for me in a couple weeks!

Love ya,

Jenny A
