(neighbors are oh sooo thrilled with their manicured treated lawns) ;-)

Angie, love the book updates. Reading is truly my solitude----sometimes I do it at 2am in my garden tub when everyone is asleep!

P.S. The rental we are in right now obviously does not have a lawn service, and the yellow dandelions and purple violets are everywhere!
Just this morning, when I saw that some of the dandelions had gone to seed, I wondered, in this time of "lawn imaculateness" if there are children who have never known the joy of blowing dandelion seeds. And what toddler, when being show how to blow them, have not put them in their mouths? Ah, the memories.

When I was teaching in a town just north of you, Angie, at one school I had no music room. When the weather was nice, we would have music class outside. When the dandelions were in bloom, with hearty, long stems, I would tell the kids if they were good, they could each pick ONE for their teacher. Each kid would march inside with their treasure, and add to the teacher's "bouquet." I'd snicker when I'd get that sideways glance that said, "thanks a LOT!" hee heeee

Thanks for adding to my memories. Maybe tomorrow I'll tell you why wild violets are so special to me...Karen Rnoreply@blogger.com
