SHOWING UPDATE

Well, we had our showing last Saturday. The couple was due here between 3-4pm but didn't show up until almost 6pm that evening. I had already come home, ripped sheets off our beds to wash/replace, etc. thinking that the people had already been there. I was wrong. Luckily, I had 20 minutes notice from the realtor that they were late but on their way. I threw comforters back on beds, pieced the house back together from what the kids had done to it in the two hours we'd been back home, etc. Needless to say....I was not happy!

They came and left but didn't write an offer on our home. We heard back from their realtor yesterday with great feedback though. He said the couple wanted a more wooded lot and actually wrote an offer on a property in a totally different sub-division that day that was surrounded by trees. He told us that our home showed extremely well and that he was spreading the word to all of his other Remax Realtors there inside his office about it. I was glad to hear that he thought it showed well. That is always my worst fear. In fact, Brent came in after the showing that day...took one look at our kitchen....started laughing and asked me if I'd been watching too much "Sell this house" on cable. Ha ha! As you can see in these photos, I had literally stripped everything off our kitchen counter tops and left the whole room with the bare minimum in it. I felt like it looked cleaner that way. Ya know?

It was so bare that it almost didn't look lived in. They always say that buyers want to be able to envision their items in there when they walk through to tour a home. Therefore, I took most of our normal day to day items out of the kitchen and put them in our cabinets or on the shelves in the pantry. Brent apparently thought I was a little OCD about it. Ha ha! Don't let him kid you though. He "totally" has the hots for "Tanya Meme" on that show sell this house. He'd watch marathon re-runs of it all day long if he could just to hear her speak. Hee hee! :)

So...in the end, no buyer yet. At least I know the realtor felt it showed well and because of that, we hope to get more showings on the house once he and other Realtors start spreading the word about it more. Again though, if it sells....it's meant to be. If it doesn't, it wasn't! Like I said the other day, "if God withholds it, for us it wasn't good." I'll keep you guys posted either way.
